Aye is an African pop, dance, world themed summer track inspired by Tolü Makay‘s Yoruba heritage with traditional Nigerian percussions such as Conga and the Talking drum.

Being means one's essence, soul and entity. This EP focuses on the journey of Tolü Makay’s personal experience to “being” herself. The most important key aspect to that is understanding the importance of self love, self assurance and self confidence.

Biography

Tolü Makay is an Afro-Irish singer-songwriter, born in Nigeria and raised in the midlands of Ireland.

Inspired by soulful artists across the globe such of Erykah Badu, Nina Simone, Amy Winehouse, Asa and Labrinth, Tolu strives to create songs that will forever inspire, heal and touch generations to come as she encounters and deals with and shares challenges and growth in her own life.

Having used her music for many years as a medium to speak her truth, 'BEING' hallmarks a significant chapter for Tolü Makay. Presenting her deepest thoughts succinctly in 7 tracks, she drives home the importance of self-love, self-assurance and self-confidence, using her own experiences as a backdrop to this musical journey.

With every release, she continues to get more support and secured chart placements on Irelands RTÉ Radio 1 Airplays and was spotlighted on BBC's Across The Line.

Tolü Makay shows no sign of slowing down after she just delivered her cover version of The Saw Doctors 30 year old classic 'N17' along with The RTE Concert Orchestra, which charted No. 1 on Irish Airplay and iTunes charts in its first week of release, she is already working on her debut album which is due 2021.
